The six books come from Aunt Ethel's Picture Gallery (#4-6) and
Sparkles for Bright Eyes (#1-3). Each book has multiple stories, some
written by well known authors such as Louisa May Alcott, Olive Thorne,
Laurie Loring and others.
Introduced as a series by Thomas Y. Crowell in 1880.
Each of the six titles were published in two formats. The library
however is only advertised as being in cloth. Board cover books are
designated here as Format 2 although they were not officially in the
series.

Cloth. Gilt and black stamping. Non book specific cover applique.

Format 2
Board covers. Different for each book. 6.5" x 8.25".
