This firm was mainly a distribution company for newspapers, periodicals, comics, etc. It was founded in 1864 by Sinclair Tousey. It did publish a number of books on its own imprint some of which were for juveniles. A number of the volumes it published were released at the same time by other outfits such as Cassell, Petter & Galpin on their imprints.

In the 1870's and 1880's this company published a number of series for juvenile readers. In addition it reprinted several yearly collations of English periodicals which were released weekly and monthly. The best example of this is the Chatterbox.

Some titles were published with different cover pictures. At times can be hard to distinguish between the earlier book and the later books. The back cover of the book can provide the answer. Here are examples of the earlier versus the later books.
