Ingham & Bragg, Cleveland

William A. Ingham (1823-1898) was a native of Connecticut. He learned the book business under the auspices of Caleb Bragg and in 1858 he and Bragg established their namesake firm. When Bragg left, Ingham ran Ingham's Cheap Book Store in Cleveland.

Caleb Smith Bragg (1824-1894) was a native of Maine. In 1849 he worked as an agent with the school book publisher, W. B. Smith in Cincinnati. Subsequently he worked in Cleveland at his own firm, Ingham and Bragg. He sold his interest in Ingham & Bragg in 1871 to become a partner in the Cincinnati house of Wilson, Hinkle & Co. which was succeeded in 1877 by Van Antwerp, Bragg & Co., a large school book publisher.

The following two series were probably published by Ingham & Bragg but it is not certain. Many of the titles have been seen but no booklists from this publisher exist. The available books have the same formats as those published by the Sunday School Union. Thus, it is most likely Ingham & Bragg printed these titles in the same named series.
