Introduced as a series by Cassell, Petter & Galpin in 1875. In 1870 Volumes #1-4 were listed as "Volumes at One Dollar". By 1876 volumes #1, 10 and 11 made up the Hillside Library and #5, 6, 7 and 9 made up the Carstone Library.
Each book has four colored plates.
Although the same price, these titles were published in a number of different cover formats over a number of different years. Initially they were published in 1870. All of this series’ books are reprints. The Seventy-Five Cent books all had a common spine design.
The spine has gold gilt lettering and decoration. 4.25" x 6.5"
