This series was introduced by A. L. Burt in 1892 with volumes #1-28. Titles were gradually added and the series was published until 1911. The title page imprint changed from A. L. Burt to A. L. Burt Company in 1902.
No new titles were added after 1907. Titles beginning at that time were variably deleted.
