This library was first published by the Massachusetts Sabbath School Society beginning in 1850. There were 167 books bound in 100 volumes. Subsequently it was printed by Congregational Sabbath School and Publishing Society in 1868 and then in 1870 it was published by the Congregational Publishing Society.
