These books were first copyrighted in 1880. The series were all
published by Dodd, Mead & Co.
The Firelight Series was introduced in 1880 and published until 1882.
In 1883 these ten books were published as the "Maple Series". The ten
volumes were published in 1884 as the "Cowslip series". In 1887 the ten
titles made up the Honeysuckle Series.
There is nothing within the books that identifies which series an
individual book is part of. The series all originally were sold within
boxes and the boxes had labels that identified the series.
Unfortunately I have not seen any of the boxes. The books shown here
were published within these series.
These ten titles also made up the Winifred Series. That series however
has illuminated board covers and the volumes are easily identifiable as
such.

This format was published with 1884 copyrighted books. Thus this cover
was seen with either the Cowslip or Honeysuckle Series covers.
It is possible that this cover is from a publisher's series and not
from one of these ten volume sets.
