BAL (Bibliography of American Literature) in some instances lists
different Putnam copyright dates. The dates here are taken from the
original copyright pages of the Putnam books.
These five books were written with various contributions from both Anna
Bartlett Warner and Susan Bogert Warner. No author is listed in the
Shepard, Clark, and Brown editions. The title pages note by the author
of "The Wide, Wide World".
This publisher printed these books in 1858-1859, Except for "Hard
Maple", they are all reprints.
Blue and red pebbled cloth seen. Front cover has a picture in gilt
of a bookshelf. The spine has a gilt decoration with the series
name and book title in gilt lettering. 5" x 7". These books were
priced at 62.5 cents.
