This series was introduced by A. L. Burt in 1895. Books published until 1896 have the 66 Reade Street address. Between 1897 and early 1900 note the 97 Reade Street address in the back ads. In 1900 and later the ads note the 52-58 Duane Street address. The imprint on the title page was A. L. Burt until 1902. In 1902 and later the imprint was A. L. Burt Company.
In 1895 there were 12 titles in the series (#2, 33, 12, 37, 23, 34, 5, 9, 32, 18, 20, 6)
In 1896 there were 20 titles. Added were #35, 7, 31, 28, 4, 15, 10, 16.
In 1897 there were 26 books (Added books #22, 14, 13, 24, 8). In 1898 there were 32 titles (see the added books). In 1899 there were 40 titles (see the added titles).
Catalogues note that this Burt series is better made than the Ideal Series of Henty books which was also published by Burt.
