This series was published by A. C. Armstrong & Son. New books were added between 1881 and 1883. "Hendricks the Hunter" was published in non series form in 1879. "Shore and Ocean" was published in a non-series format in 1880.
The non series formats were published as late as 1883. The books are bound in red cloth with a book specific cover illustration. See below.

Referred to as the "New Kingston Library" in 1881-1884. In 1889 noted as Library of Adventures Afloat and Ashore.

As per the series:
#1 and #2 were released in September, 1881.
#3 and #4 were published in 1882. #5 was added to the series in 1883.

The series was sold as a boxed set of four in 1882 and later as a boxed set of five in 1883.

Cloth. Tan and blue seen. Cover illustrated with various scenes (see below). Gilt on spine and cover.
(Later editions of the series had the same cover picture but it noted "Romances and Adventures" and had red cloth)

Pictured here are other editions of several of the books. Whether they were part of a boxed set edition or not is unknown.
