Introduced as a series by J. B. Lippincott Company in 1896 with
volumes #1-2.
It appears that Volumes #2-3 were first editions in this series
whereas Volume #1 had been published outside of this series initially.
The cover however for the first edition of #1 is the same as that of
the later edition of #1 and the first editions of #2-3. The first
edition of #1 not notes 1895 on the title page.
