This series was published in 1859.
All of the titles with the exception of nos. 7, 9, and 10 were
previously published by Nafis and Cornish and Cornish, Lamport &
Co. in their Young People's Library and in the Peter Parley's Select
Library (both in the 1840's). Parley however did not actually write
these books. They are so-called spurious Parley volumes written to take
advantage of the Parley name.
Most of the Shepard, Clark and Brown versions have no named author.
Note that the decorative title page from this series is very similar to
the Nafis and Cornish illustrated title page.
