Small Book Series

Published by McCauley & Kilner/ H. L. Kilner & Co.

There are three series of small books.
1. Prize Library, First Series (Donkey Cart Series)
2. Prize Library, Second Series (Large Circle Cover Series)
3. Prize Library, Third Series (Fan Cover Series)

Each of these series have a common cover with a non-book specific paste-on with a colored illustration. Of great interest is that all of the titles had previously been published by Dodd, Mead & Co. The Donkey Cart covers were also published by Dodd, Mead & Co. I suspect the Fan Covers as well as the Large Circle Covers were also published by Dodd, Mead & Co. but as of yet I have not seen them.

McCauley & Kilner published this series sometime between 1891-1893. Later in the 1890's and early 1900's, Kilner & Co. printed these books. Cloth. Various colors. Cover has a picture of a cart with children being pulled by a donkey. There is a non-book specific applique with a colored illustration. 3.5" x 5.25"

McCauley & Kilner published this series sometime between 1891-1893. Later in the 1890's and early 1900's, Kilner & Co. printed these books. These ten titles were published in different cover formats (copyrights all 1882) by Dodd, Mead & Co. See: 19th Century Juvenile Series - Boy Blue Series
